All about Oxford Education Collective
Who are we?
Oxford Education Collective is a vibrant and inclusive community created by students at the University of Oxford with an interest in the field of Education and open to all across the university. Our mission is to create a social space for students with shared interests to mix. At the heart of our society are engaging events where members have the opportunity to socialise in a student-led, relaxed and supportive environment. Through our activities, we also strive to foster an atmosphere of intellectual growth and collaboration. The Oxford Education Collective (OEDC) is run by students for students and will thrive on active participation and feedback from members; we intend to ensure that our events and activities cater to the diverse interests and needs of our membership base. As a member of the collective, you’ll be part of a community that values the integration of academic and social interests. Whether you’re looking to connect with like-minded individuals, have stimulating conversations, or simply have a good time, we provide a supportive platform to meet your needs!
What do we offer?
Through our diverse range of social activities we provide a supportive space for members to forge connections with like-minded individuals. Whether it’s engaging in lively discussions, exploring shared hobbies, or simply enjoying each others’ company, out society offers a welcoming and inclusive environment where you can truly be yourself. Events include: punting on the beautiful rivers of Oxford; summer BBQs; formal dinners; 3-minute research presentations; pub quiz, hikes and much much more!
Who can join?
The society will allow students across the university who may be siloed in departmental, course, or college settings to be able to expand their social circle to students with broadly similar interests. Academic creativity thrives on interdisciplinarity and diversity, thus we expect our member base to consist of people from different academic, social, and geographical backgrounds.
